Last vaction before baby arrives

Hi all,

My wife is about 7 months pregnant and we are planning our last holiday before the baby arrives. We are based out of Singapore and have done most of Asia. Seeking some destination ideas for this trip. The following is our requirements:

1. travel time - max 7-8 hours from Singapore
2. not looking for a lazy beach vacation
3. safe place - my wife can move about but I wouldn't chance going to a place that is not safe for her
4. 5-6 days max
5. direct flights from Singapore to the destination

I was thinking Japan (Tokyo+Mt Fuji etc) or maybe the Philippines. Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

Best,
Rahul

Japan would be fine, or in that direction have you considered Taiwan? Is Australia within your flying distance? Once you pick a continent you'll get more replies on the forum for that continent - use the Change Forum button.

I thought that alot of the airlines did not want you to fly after 7 months unless you had a doctor's note?

7 months pregnant and wanting a 7 or 8 hour flight? You're game!

I don't want to interfere with your plans with your family, but I guess it's better for your wife to have a safe delivery first before planning a vacation. It's good for both your wife and baby and maybe go travel when your child turns 1 year or so.

7th month is safe, 8th is tricky so as long as you are allowed to travel by plane authorities and get back within the 7th month, go ahead. Though i cant help but wonder why you decided on vacationing so late???

I think that if your wife was honest with you she would say she doesn't want to go. The last 6-8 weeks are one that you want to be home "nesting" and not going to a foreign city. Quite a few people have had their kids come early ( I gave birth a month early for my first one) and alot of people have been told my their doctors that you really shouldn't fly after 7 months.

The trips and places will be there after your little one comes.
We just had a woman give birth at 7 months on a flight to the USA a couple months ago on the airline I work for-do you really want to chance that?
