Jewelry
Looking for ideas on how what to use for jewelry. I usually carry earrings and necklaces. I’m not a
ring person. How do carry yours when traveling? |
Back in the day when I took jewelry on my trips, I'd use the tiny cellphane bags from craft stores, or the mini RX bags from the pharmacy. These days I just wear my favorite necklace and rings and call it a day. Can't lose it that way.

Like Melnq8, in my ears. One pair of good, but not flashy, go with everything all-purpose earrings. And scarves, not necklaces.

I take one cheap ring worn on the ring finger of my left hand, even though I'm not married. Occasionally I take a small jade pendant on a black string. I never wear ear rings. I see no point in taking "good" jewelry unless you are planning to attend a dress up event (i.e. not the theater). If you don't take something you value it can't be lost or stolen, and you don't have to worry about it. I stashed my jewelry in a safe deposit box before I left.

Trust me what I take isn’t from Tiffany’s! But I do like to take a few different pieces. I like the idea of the pill bags. I might give that a try. I have something I can put them in to keep them all in the same spot.
Thanks! |
I use silk pouches similar to these. I have 3 or 4 of different sizes so which ever one I take depends on how much jewelry I take. I like them better than the pill baggies because they are large enough to also hold bracelets and are slightly padded and privde a bit of protection.

The little pouches are so cute! Another great idea!

I also use a mesh pouch. It's a pretty turquoise color in a fabric you can see thru and holds a couple silver necklaces and a few bead bracelets. My earrings are small pierced studs, so besides what is in my ears I put a few extra pairs in a tiny little container (like a sample of face cream came in).

For my last trip I bought a new toiletry bag (Bagsmart) I really like. I used it for all my toiletries, make up, and it has a section I even put first aid supplies in. What I found was I would pull out my jewelry (mostly earrings) more often than what I ever needed the first aid supplies - which of course was a good thing.
So what I think I will try on my next trip is put the first aid supplies in a separate bag (have one that will work) and use the section in the toiletry bag for jewelry. Probably put most earrings in the pill bags and maybe a couple of pouches. Then put them in that section. It zips and is water proof. I’ll let you know how it worked. |
This is the jewelry bag I use. I put earrings in the small pouches along the side of the bag and a necklace or bracelet in the main compartment. I don't travel with much jewelry, but I do like to wear earrings.

Mrs Z enjoys buying jewelry on all of our trips. She uses a soft pouch once purchased from our city's larger Chinatown.
*Question: would not an empty eyeglasses case do the job too? I am done. les bijoux |
I got a travelling jewelery pouch fro TJ Maxx. I think it's a Travelon brand. A zip pouch for necklaces or bracelets, a spot to put earrings for pierced ears and a ring holder. The pouch might be too small for big statement necklaces, but is ok for chains and smaller necklaces.

I use small plastic zip-lock bags. Can see instantly what is in them. Never take “ serious” jewellery.
Love ear rings & often buy them when I’m away. Gave up travelling with jewellery rolls & bags decades ago. |
I take minimal jewelry and store it in amenity bags from airlines.
I also use zip-loc bags for sterling. |
I have travel jewellery bags in 2 different sizes. I do travel with good jewellery, not all of it but some pieces.
|
I don't even own any "good jewelry". On vacations in tropical places I do have some fun things I pack to wear. Nothing I'd wear at home every day.
|
I'll use small plastic resealable bags to hold necklaces and rings, but they tend to get tangled together easily, which really bothers me.

I use something like this to hold my jewelry https://www.etsy.com/listing/6822467...-purple-flower. I don’t take a lot but like to have it in one spot.
