Itinerary Planning Apps
 

Hi, I am looking for an easy app to plot places of interest on a map for an upcoming trip, and then plan a daily itinerary. Would like something that works offline, can add my own restaurant choice (not only from a pre-defined list), and has additional information such as opening hours. I believe there are some that can optimize the itinerary if you add places and plan the day accordingly...but I am happy to plan my own day. Just want all the information handy. Looking at Triphobo, and CityMaps 2Go, Any other ideas? As always, thanks for any input!

I've done a lot of research looking for apps that help plan and organize my travels, but I've never found one that does everything perfectly, and definitely never found one that does it starting from a map.

I have used Planapple (http://planapple.com) to help plan my last few trips, and I like it a lot. A newer site I found recently that is also really good is Travefy (http://travefy.com).

I tried Triphobo, but when it didn't recognize one of the destinations (Easter Island; I also tried Rapa Nui and Isla de Pascua with no success)on my upcoming trip, I gave up.

Reposting to see if anyone has any more ideas... Another trip is coming up to Paris...

I used mapcustomizer.com to plot out the places that I wanted to see on my last trip so I could determine how to group my activities. It places numbered pins on a map of the city after you enter the name/address and prints those in a list format based on the numbered pins on the map, which is also printed.

I don't think it does everything you want though.
