Is a converter necessary?

I have a battery recharger which specifies that its input can be 110v-220v so that I only need an plug adapter for it. Our electric toothbrush, made in Germany, only specifies 110-130v on the recharger. Does that mean that we need to pack a converter? Thanks.

This may not be the answer you want to hear, but I'd strongly advise you NOT to take any electrical item that does not run at a dual 110/220 voltage. A converter is particularly bad for a delicate electronic item, so what you really need to do is to take a cheap, battery-operated toothbrush and leave the expensive one at home.

To be more specific, if your toothbrush does not run at 220, then you must have a converter.

Agree with Doug..Get a battery operated toothbrush or get one that is dual..Most newer electronic devices are already dual voltage. All of mine things are. Converters take up more room.....

I also agree, but we take just take an old fashioned non-electric toothbrush for trips. Easier and every little bit helps on saving weight!

dfr,

Non-electric toothbrush? You're really roughing it! :)
