Inconsequential travel tip

Of little import probably, but this has made my life easier.
We have four credit cards between us and I’ve used them pretty much interchangeably for booking travel.
(No foreign transaction fees, etc.)
So when checking into a hotel, for example, it was often hard to remember which card I had booked with and even if I had pre-paid. Same at airports.
This last year, I decided to put all hotels on one card, all transport on a second, food and entertainment on a third.
My aging brain is happy.

Sound like a good idea.
I would still prefer to have only one..;)

You would not prefer to have only one if you were traveling and it was lost, stolen or compromised.

We have two...one we use, and one as a back-up.

I had my Amex stolen (along with my wallet) in Rome (the notorious Bus 64 to the Vatican). Years ago, but it taught me the importance of having more than one credit card in separate places. Fortunately back then I kept my other card in the safe at the hotel, and more fortunately, there was an Amex service center at the bottom of the Spanish Steps. So 3 hours in the police station to write up the report, then an hour with Amex, and got a new card.

Nice idea about categorizing the use of cards. :)
