Ideas for honeymoon in Italy
We're getting married in the September 07. Does anyone have any recos for hotels in Tuscany or along the Amalfi coast?
|
We had stayed at the Posa Posa in Positano and loved it. The place is reasonably priced for Positano, and we stayed in a junior suite, Room 304. The view were stunning, you could even see Positano from our bed. We also stayed in the Torre Guelfa in Florence, which was nice. But, you wish to stay in Tuscany.

We stayed at the San Pietro in Positano. It was amazing, but pricey. From there, we took a day trip to Capri which was lovely!
|
I don't have any hotel recommendations but I highly recommend taking a boat trip from Salerno and up the coast. It stops in every town on the Amalfi coast. I thought it was a great way to see the Amalfi coast and visit all fo the towns.

I actually just returned home from my wedding and honeymoon in Italy. My husband and I hosted our Tuscan wedding at Villa Belpoggio near Arezzo, and I highly recommend it for a honeymoon, as well. The villa is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and furnished with antiques, but with modern bathrooms. Maria, the villa's manager, will take care of anything and everything you ask -- from suggesting daytrips to making restaurant reservations to arranging private dinners at the villa.
Alternatively, we also enjoyed Poggio ai Merli, which is located in the hills just outside of Florence. It, too, is a special place with lovely, comfortable rooms and a very helpful staff. |
If you would like to book a romantic honeymoon in Italy I would suggest you visit the beautiful island Capri. If you would like to talk to a concierge feel free to e-mail me.

I would concentrate on Tuscany with several days in the Italian Riviera, namely Rapallo. Lovely, small, romantic and gorgeous in September.

Shanatelle,
How are the wedding plans? |
Rapello is wonderful. My family just got back from Europe and stayed in S'vestri Levante (misspelled???) for 3 or 4 days seeing relatives. That might be cheaper & it's still on the Italian Riviera - just a little ways from Rapallo, Portofino, etc.
And, Lago de Como is my fave....much more expensive than it used to be. Cousin, wife & son joined friends for lunch - bill for 3 (& only 2 had wine) - $300+ = that's USD. |
