Ideas for 50th Anniversary trip
My husband & I would like to celebrate our 50th anniversary (March 2017) with our family (8 adults & 5 grandchildren ages 9-17. The only week that works for all is over July 4, 2017. We would like an all-inclusive, but we're hesitant to schedule something in Florida or the Caribbean in summer. No camping! We would like to keep the total cost at about $20,000. Most of us live in Michigan except one family in Vermont. The only 2 states my husband have NOT visited in the US are Oregon & Delaware. Any suggestions of a location with historical spots to visit or activities to enjoy?

Have you thought about a cruise? We just took our family on one for our 50th anniversary. It worked out well. you can probably find several in your price range that run up/down the East coast of the US or Canada.
Or, consider renting a beach house in the Charleston, SC area - you'll not only get beach time but also be able to explore the many historical sites in/around Charleston - there lots to see and do that will interest all age groups. We did that on 3 different occasions (there was so much to see it required multiple visits) several years ago and everyone had a great time. |
While not an all-inclusive, I love the Hotel del Coronado on Coronado Island adjacent to San Diego. A large historic resort, it's an easy location to navigate in a small town atmosphere, on a beach and with all the interesting sights of San Diego minutes away. The average high temp in Coronado in July is 77, perfect I think.
