Honeymoon Ideas

I am getting married in December and looking to honeymoon in mid-late January. I thought Belize would be nice. Does anybody have suggestions about Belize or any other romantic, exciting, relaxing honeymoon spots? My future husband and I are looking for an affordable (not the most expensive place, but not a "cheap" place either, we want to spoil ourselves a little).

Thank you for any help!

I have never been to Belize, but I've heard good things.

We have been to Antigua, which is small and quiet, with white sand beaches and turquoise water.
We were not staying there, just had dinner. We visited it for the day, having taken the ferry from St Marten (which we did not like at all). I don't remember the name of the resort we stopped in, though.

Hey MrsP.

I clicked on your name and noticed that you've only posted your question here on travel tips.

Try posting it on the Mexico/Central America Forum.

To the left of your name in blue it says "forums"

This forum doesn't get all that much traffic but I bet you'll find more info than you thought at that forum.

Best Wishes and happy travels

I agree.

Switch forums and post and/or read on both the Caribbean forum and the Mexico/Central America forum.

This general "Travel Tips" branch is a catch-all that not too many people look at.

It's a huge question because there are so many places that could be considered romantic, exciting, affordable.

I like Negril Jamaica, Puerto Vallarta Mexico, and Hawaii myself. All fit what you ask for.

Welcome to Fodors!

Agree with others, you may get better responses on other boards. However, do post a bit more information on what you like to do.

Do you want to dive, snorkel, sit on the beach, hike, dance in a nightclub?

Are you adventuresome, foodies, photographers, nature lovers?

Are you interested in archetecture , museums, cultural experiences, music, watersports, spas?

Where have you been previously that you loved?

What did you do there that made it special?

How long do you have for your honeymoon?

Would you mind giving a very rough idea of your budget? Does the budget include airfare or not?

All of this will help us point you to some places that might be interesting.

Congrats!
