Has anyone ever used Gate 1 travel

I have booked a trip to Israel leaving in a couple of months and am interested in hearing other experiences with this online travel agency.

Hi Roses,
I am booked with Gate 1 for the 15 day Egypt with 7 day Nile Cruise, in six weeks. I have been following CruiseCritic for this trip to get the lo down on Gate 1. This company was highly recommended by my travel agent and she facilitated my booking. They were having a sale and several of us jumped into the booking then later found that a cabin upgrade was a good idea. We contacted, thru our agent, Gate 1 and they wanted to charge up $200 more for an upgrade that was listed on their website as $100. I wrote them an email asking why they were punishing us for booking early and they gave me the upgrade for $100, which is what I had hoped.
There are several discussions on TripAdvior that Gate 1 is not trustworthy, but I have found that there are many travelers with this company who rave about it.
Try going to CruiseCritic.com and in search type "Has anyone sailed on the MS Neptune on the Nile". The >26 page thread should pop up.
Sounds like a great trip!

I have traveled with Gate 1 three times & have absolutley no complaints. I highly recommend them & am thinking of doing the 12 day India trip. Thus far we did their escorted Thailand, independent Peru, & just used their hotels/bulk air for Australia.
I have found them to be very reliable & use very releiable professional local services.

A Fodorite P_M took this trip with Gate 1 to Israel, and her report was all raves. I'll try to find it and post a link if I can.

I had a tour with another company, we shared one hotel with Gate 1 - they didn't complain.

Dayenu I saw PMs post. Her trip was from 2007 so I was seeing if there was a trip with Gate 1 that was more recent. Thank you for offering to find and thanks to all that have responded. This is a great site my first post was today.

I've used Gate 1 for non-escorted trips for about 5 years, without any problems whatsoever. We book in August or so for the next March (women friends traveling, 2-7 each trip), some in California, some in Indiana, and they have worked with us to get what we want and need every time. Basically we're booking flights and hotels, sometimes with some other transportation included. So far so good!
