Free quickie trip to a major world city. Where would you go?

I love Amsterdam so that would be my choice. As everyone else has said the transportation is organized, frequent and easy and the city is quite compact.would be a good choice for such a short trip. good luck with the decision and have a good trip

If you're leaving from London then I'd choose Rome. Not a long flight, no jet lag and it's a great city to spend a day in (or 10!).
Paris and Ireland are too close and you'd hardly be taking advantage of the free flight!

Kyoto - You could fly to Tokyo (itdelf an amzing city)with BA jump on a bullet train (2 hours) and spend a few days visiting some of the 17 UNESCO world heritage sites around the city - truly breathtaking. The food is the best you will find anywhwere in the world

How abot Iceland? It's otherwise somewhat expensive to get to from the US but close to London. It's an interesting place and quite beautiful. The Blue Lagoon hot springs is close to the airport plus you could take short bus tours to see the glacier, waterfalls, etc.
