Favorable exchange rates?

I am a college student about to graduate, but not wanting to head to graduate school immediately. I was hoping to do some independent travel outside the US and was wondering what countries have the most favorable exchange rates. I don't mind paying a larger sum for a flight ticket, so long as the country's exchange rate is favorable. Any suggestions of places to go (preferably off the beaten path)?

www.spirit.com to South America Colombia Ecuador Peru

out of FLL cheap to get to your dollars will go far there.

www.saexplorers.org/clubhouses/quito good info....

cheap stays from $100/wk eats tours from $10/da

Personally like Ecuador www.guanguiltagua.com very pretty

the most ecodense country in SA

jungle galapagos inka mountains cloud forest beache surf dive

all within a few hours from Quito.

A second choice would be eastern europe

costs a lot more to fly there though...more expensive also.

Happy Hunting,

Thailand cheap once you get there

but costs a lot to fly there...

Phuket area is pretty amazing for beaches though...

might be worth it if you like asian culture food...

Happy Journey,

Forget the exchange rate, what counts is actual cost - a good exchange rate in an expensive country is outweighed by a bad exchange rate in a cheap country. Most of Asia is cheap.

I agree "exchange rate" should not be your most important consideration. It's the cost of living once you are there. Mexico or Thailand come to mind as good values.

Ahh, good points. I guess what i was meaning to say is where does the dollar go the farthest. Central/South America sounds pretty solid, considering it is close and thus more likely to be cheaper to fly to.
