Europe in December with a toddler - need to make plans ASAP

Hi all!
My husband was just invited to attend a conference in Frankfurt in December. We have decided to make it a family trip. We are experienced travelers, but have an 18 month old who has never been overseas. We did a Christkindlmarkt trip to Germany two years ago, so although we will visit the market in Frankfurt, we do not want to go to any other cities for theirs. We are trying to figure out where we could go from Frankfurt for 3-4 days after his conference. Initially I thought Brussels, Amsterdam, or Paris, since they are relatively easy to get to and we haven't been there. But, I don't know how toddler-friendly they are, or whether they are the best options in December. Any recommendations on where to go and what to do would be GREATLY appreciated! We have to book this out tonight or tomorrow, so fast responses are much appreciated as well!
Thanks very much!

How long a trip?
With a little one, I'd minimize changing locations, stay in apartments (wherever that's legal), and try to keep to the baby's routine as much as possible.

The vacation part of the trip will be 3-4 days. We will be in Frankfurt for three days for my husband's work. I am hoping to find an apartment on whatever vacation destination we find, so we can have some space and maintain routine, like you said.

We have children in Europe too and have toddlers with us - so I don't see a problem there.
Of course we have cobblestones etc but we do manage - just take

a foldable stroller - will also help when the kid is tired.

Bruxelles Amst and Paris are good choices - albeit weather is miserable.
I'd propose Strasbourg too - a mix between Germany and French ambiance.

You'll get more 'eyes' and responses if you re-post this on the Europe Forum.

Don't forget to obtain a passport for your toddler. If going in December you might want to pay extra for expedited service.

Also, taking a toddle to cities in Europe is not much different than taking your toddler to a big city near where you live.
