Car rental without a credit card
 

Hello all

i would appreciate any tips on how to rent out a car from Washington DC without a credit card. Is this possible? I have tried rent a wreck but they have said it is only for local travel and I would like to travel down the coast.

I frankly don't know of a company that would do this. Among other things, they use the card as a "backup" for any damage not covered by insurance. That said, I would certainly think there are exceptions or that they've run into this before. I'd just keep calling them and see if any have a policy that will work for you. Do you have a family member that could supply one?

yes I could get someone else to use there credit card but I've been told the card has to be registered to the main driver.

I know that's often the case, but thought some companies might have different rules. Hopefully someone who has been able to do this can offer more help than I.

Budget will let you rent without a credit card, but they will put a hold on your debit card for a few hundred dollars.
