Can I bring this bag on the plane *in addition* to one carry on?
KLM flights from the US to Amsterdam and London, and wondering if I can use this as my extra accessory/personal item instead of my purse. This way I can put a small purse into this, plus my iPad, journal, scarf, flats, etc. No, I will not be using it as a diaper bag, I have no babies! Just seems like a nice roomy bag with nice extras and compartments/pockets.

I do that on every flight, domestic US and international.

For the major airlines, the basic "rule" that I follow, is that you can put one bag up, and whatever fits underneath the seat in front of you.
When you get to the 'low priced' airlines, keep up with the changes. |
Thanks :)

You have to obey the basic rule of airlines.

I pretty much always do that - a carry-on sized roller board and a largish personal item. I put my purse inside that larger item. Sometimes my personal item is a computer bag, sometimes a daypack or a messenger bag, sometimes a beach bag - just depends on the trip.

I just want to make sure it's not too big for a personal item. Certainly it's no larger than a briefcase that a man may bring on.. right?

My husband's computer bag is larger than the bag you are considering, and he takes it has his personal item on many flights every year. My computer bag is about 15"x12"x4" and it is on the smaller side for a bag to carry a standad-sized laptop, a few files, and some office supplies.
