Booking thru expedia

I can save $142.00 booking my hotel for one week in Nassau thru Expedia as opposed to booking thru the hotel. Is it worth it? Never booked thru Expedia before. Any feedback on this would be helpful.

I've only done this once about 4 years ago for a week stay in Paris and had no problems. I printed my confirmation and took it with me but they didn't ask to see it. In this case, the hotel website said it was sold out but Expedia had rooms available. Good luck.

We use Expedia for all our hotel bookings in Europe and USA, we have used them for the past 10 years and have never had any problems.

I just used them for an apart'hotel in Grenoble - no problems.

It's the same as booking through any online travel agency. The advantage of using Expedia is that they SHOULD help you if you run into any problems, like any travel agent would, but you can't always be assured of that.

Also, you should be aware that some of these really good deals through Expedia are completely nonrefundable and non-changeable. Read the fine print and make sure all the conditions are acceptable to you.

Here in the Uk and Europe, I find that they are usually more expensive than booking direct. It's interesting that you've found them to cheaper in the Bahamas.

I usually try laterooms.com and lastminute.com.

I have had good luck with Expedia - in the US and in Europe. I always check the hotel web sites and a few others before booking though to make sure I am getting a decent price. Recently I reserved Le Meridian in Brussels for US$104 per night. Definitely check to see if the rates you are seeing are non-refundable though since that may or may not be ok with you.
