Best Romantic Honeymoon Destinations for 2025?

I’m helping a close friend plan their honeymoon for later this year and we’re exploring romantic getaway ideas. They’re looking for something unique—not the usual Maldives or Paris type trip.
Any suggestions for hidden gems or underrated destinations that are perfect for couples looking to relax and connect?

They’re planning to travel in style—possibly flying business class for that extra comfort and experience. So any destination suggestions that are well-connected with premium airlines would be a huge plus.

Bonus points if the place has beautiful nature, good food, and a cozy, romantic vibe! 💑

Utah? Plenty of beautiful nature in the various parks. Proximity also to Grand Canyon. One could eat well there.

Hawaii, coastal Mexico, and most islands of the Caribbean fit the request.

In the absence of any of the requested (and critical) information, I have to wonder if the OP is trying to write an article or term paper or something like that.

Great point — I should’ve included that! They’re planning the trip for late October to early November 2025, and they’ll have around 10 to 12 days for the entire honeymoon.

They're open to destinations in Europe, Asia, or even something a bit off the radar, as long as it’s romantic, scenic, and accessible via business class flights. Weather is definitely a factor, so we'd love ideas where the climate is pleasant that time of year.

Which airlines do you consider "premium"?

What do they want to do? Lounge on a pretty beach, dive, explore "exotic" towns and cities?
Where have they traveled before, assuming they would not want to repeat....???
What kind of hotel budget do they have? In other words, are they looking for hotels that might cost $1,000 per night. (I imagine, yes, since you mentioned Maldives)
Do they want Four Seasons, RC, Aman-type hotels???

You have not given enough information..right now, just a "romantic" place with business class air links.....and I doubt if anyplace like that is going to a
hidden" gem or "undiscovered."

Combo of a couple of Singita properties in Southern Africa: South Africa and/or Zimbabwe and very soon, Botswana...

I'm going in the fantasy zone now: Where would I like to go, let's say, for a romantic two-week-long honeymoon with a tremendous budget???

Difficult question, that's for sure...!!

I might consider these, but have not given it any real thought:

Super-luxury small hotel on coast of Sri Lanka--add on Galle fAce Hotel in Colombo
Super-luxury small hotel on an island in Indonesia (other than Bali)--one with great, calm beaches and clear water....add on a few days near Ubud, Bali
Combo of Singita or similar in Southern Africa or in the Grumeti in Tanzania..add on Pemba,Island or similar..
Super luxe small resort in the Whitsunday Islands, with add-on week in Melbourne
Private yacht charter sailing around Raja Ampat

We fly business class as a rule, we obviously sit in the front of the plane with the other business class passengers. Not much farther up we can go or we’d be in the cockpit. Just curious, what do you consider first class?

Yes. Some airlines call what used to be "first class" business class now. It depends on the airline.

There are still airlines that have three classes: First, business, and economy.
Look at the Gulf airlines and some European and Asian airlines.

I don't know any American carriers that still have a first class, but in Europe, Air France still does:So do Lufthansa and BA. But not on all flights.

First class on Emirates even gets you a limo to the airport, a closed-off cabin, pajamas...etc..

Business is wonderful, but once you've traveled in first class, you don't want to go back to that!! (I've only traveled in first a few times when I was on a press trip, and that was many years ago, on airlines like Singapore). I also got bumped up into First on Iberia on my FIRST flight to Europe, because I checked in late and there were no coach seats left!! That would not happen today, that's for sure.

And there is a dedicated lounge for first class that's way more upscale than the usual business lounges.

Here's a tip: I was in the AMEX CENTURION LOUNGE at Miami airport last month. Not only is it about a mile removed from the gates, but the food was poor and the place was so cramped I could barely find a place to sit.... I don't know what the other CENTURION lounges are like..curious if they are any great ones that are better than the business lounges in any particular airport. On my flight from Miami to Madrid, I sat near a woman who worked for AMEX CENTURION and she asked me a lot of details about my experience. When I told her, she said she was hearing that a lot from other passengers and that they were trying to improve their product. But that's not a First-Class lounge; there were people in there in what looked like bathing suits.

Without knowing where they're coming from, we still have a problem with scheduling. 10 to 12 days is not much if 3 or 4 of those days are spent getting there and back. If they're coming from Europe, then Australia or New Zealand (or the South Pacific in general) is probably too far.

If it was me, I'd probably also be looking at some lodge in the Sabi Sand reserve in South Africa, or possibly Easter Island, reached by (business class) from Santiago, Chile. And while the weather might not be ideal (probably stormy) they might want to look at what is (to me) an incredibly atmospheric and romantic place in the Fogo Island Inn on Fogo Island, off the coast of Newfoundland. Fly in business class (no First offered) to St. Johns then drive to Fogo.


They might also look at a high-end cruise in the Mediterranean, or around Central America, or maybe Southeast Asia? If they can go in mid-October, go autumn leaf-peeping in Hokkaido in Japan... lots of options.

Or, following my own personal obsession, start a business class round-the-world ticket in Norway (around US$6K) and use it to spend some time in Africa or the Middle East (maybe Muscat, Oman - google it) then return home with probably a dozen (out of sixteen available) flights left to use throughout a 12-month period before ending back in Norway. Honeymoon for a year.

The three American 'legacy' carriers (AA/UA/DL) have eliminated or will eliminate their international First Class (I think AA is still running FC on some routes but those are going away too). So it is mostly Business Class only. But many international carriers still have really (REALLY) posh First Class and promote it. Just Google Air France La Premier or Etihad The Residence or Singapore Suites to see what 'real' First Class is all about. Definitely not the same as mere Business Class ;)

Domestic FC is mostly 'Business Class-ish' except for on some premier routes like SFO or LAX to JFK or BOS where there can be three classes.

Puglia in southern Italy can be a good option. It offers romantic towns and beautiful coastlines. It is also known as a food lover's paradise.
