Bathrooms in Canada--translation requested

I've been researching B&B's in BC, ( I live in California.) Ensuite I know, but three piece? Four piece? Two piece?

It's not crucial and doesn't affect my choice but it would be fun to know.

>>three piece? Four piece? Two piece?<<

• 4 piece is usually a sink, toilet, shower, and tub
• 3 piece is sink + toilet + either a shower or tub
• 2 piece is two pieces (like a half bath in the States). Sometimes a toilet + basin, or it could be a basin + shower (then the toilet would usually be in a separate water closet)

As above, but maybe bidets??

Bidets are relatively rare in Cdn homes. I'd expect even rarer on the west coast. You'd likely end up with a five piece.

Two piece is almost always toilet and sink.

Janis is correct - but a two piece almost always means a toilet and sink -

i dont know anyone with a bidet - they exist / but it would be very rare indeed .

In the Italian neighbourhoods in Toronto the builders started putting in bidets during the 1980s. Common enough in those subdivisions . Almost mythical outside of them.
