Annual Trip Insurance for Seniors
Hello, Wondering about annual trip insurance to cover mostly medical evacuation from anywhere-US or abroad. We are 76 years old with some medical issues that hopefully will not, but could require this, and it would be very reassuring to have this coverage. We are have been recommended https://www.emergencyassistanceplus.com and several others spoke highly of the Allianz plans. Thoughts and recommendations welcomed.

In the link you provide, it specifically states Emergency Assistance Plus® (EA+®) is not insurance, it is a membership plan.
I would take great care to read the T&Cs to ensure you know exactly what you are buying and what exactly is covered. The policy seems to cover Evacuation only , but what would be the situation if you say suffered a major stroke where immediate medical attention is required, would you covered for the immediate medical attention required or would they just repatriate? I am based in the UK where few people travel without comprehensive travel insurance. my own annual policy covers me for trips of up to 45day, (unlimited) , for medical costs up to £10m, repatriation on death or injury, cancellation and curtailment because of illness to me or a close family member , transport strikes, missed departures , lost baggage etc. - i.e . pretty much everything. I appreciate that the insurance market in the US is way less developed than in many other parts of the world and Allianz which is based in Europe and is arguably the worlds' largest insurance company and may provide more wide ranging cover if that's what you require. With most insurance, it is essential that your disclose all pre existing conditions , no matter how minor, or you won't be covered. |
TravelInsured
We recently purchased our first annual plan for medical and evacuation from TravelInsured via USAA in the US.
We used TravelInsured for a cruise that I had to cancel due to medical and they paid easily and promptly so I have stayed with them. Haven't used the annual plan yet (thankfully). |
