Solo Trip From Atlanta

I'm going through a big transition and life and need to get away. I'll be 30 in February and want to get out of the USA for a solo trip to a new place where I can FINALLY get a stamp in my passport. I live in Atlanta but I'm originally from Southern California. I'm looking for somewhere with good food, good culture, yet inexpensive. Somewhere that's safe for a single girl to go!

Budget (just how 'inexpensive') ? Time of year? How long a trip?

Probably southeast Asia - has what you want and much cheaper than Europe - ask over on the Asia board.

Hi SoCal,

www.spirit.com to SA cheap sometimes free if you get their
new "free spirit" world MC and get a free flight or 2.
I did this last to www.cartagenainfo.net www.casaviena.com
cheap fun place to stay nice action history great beaches
only 3 hours south of FL no long expensive slogs to Asia.

A little more go Spirit.com to Lima www.inkalandadventures.com
Trek to MP with Flavio from $300 for me last.If time add a
www.galavengalapagos.com cruise from $600 with www.guanguiltagua.com [email protected] truly AWESOME
if you love nature/adventure.CAREFUL with the many scammers
touts agents "experts" here and on Tripadvertizer that will try to charge you thousands more you do not have to pay.

Happy Travels,

Beware Spirit Airlines. They canceled the flight my friends were supposed to take back from SA, and they had to come back early.

I'm looking to spend no more than $800 for R/T airfare from ATL. Definitely somewhere that is American-friendly.

You will get better replies on the continent-specific forums, although I'd go easy on the "American-friendly" talk. The only places you really have to worry are war-zones. Most places you'll be safer than in an American city.

From Atlanta you can get a nonstop into Jamaica with . Then go to Negril.

I'm not sure what you mean by "American friendly" though.

But your question is hugely open-ended. Go to Europe. Go to Thailand. Head down to Mexico. All easy and safe for a women to travel solo.

Don't get your hope up about passport stamps though, I rarely get those in recent years.
