50th birthday in January destination
 

I am looking for a place to visit with a friend (2 women) to celebrate our 50th birthday in January. We considered Iceland at first but very few hours of daylight then. Ideally looking for a quick trip, easy to and from NYC area but looking for interesting and probably warmth. We love adventure, luxury, spa, funky, artsy, maybe something with a combination. A big plus if we have never been and experience a land of new to ring in the new decade. Thanks for the insight!

Seems like a Caribbean island might fit the bill? Or the Caribbean coast of Mexico?
