Yellow fever vaccination

On our way to Peru for 24 days. CDC says Yellow fever vaccination not required to travel to Peru but recommended. Did you get this vaccination?

www.mdtravelhealth.com Peru correct info

not required but suggested ONLY for the jungle

if you are going there.

No YF anywhere else therefore pointless to get the shot.

Unless you're going to Manu, Madre de Dios, or the northern Amazon, you won't need it for Peru.

I do make a point to always stay up to date with my yellow fever immunization though. It's good for 10 years, and that way I'm always prepared if I want to travel to a place where it's an issue. I'll be due again in 2012, and I'll make sure to get one then.

I forgot to say: 24 days in Peru! Lucky you! That should be a nice trip.

Thanks for the info. I'll get the yellow fever immunization since we are going to Amazonas Posadas. Yes, Jeff, a trip of a lifetime. I have been thinking of going to Peru for over 20 years and it's finally happening.
