who to call in Argentina?
Hi,
My daughter had a valid 10 year visa to Argentina. She got a new US passport and forgot to bring the old passport to the Airport. AA would not let her on board so she had to pay another $150 and obtained one on line and paid with US credit card. So, what are the chances of getting her money back? What proof shall she carry the next time she goes to Argentina? Thank you for any light you can shed on this. Regarding her vacation... heat wave, blackouts, insecurity, .. nothing exciting to report. |
I can't imagine she could get any refund. She didn't have a visa (with her); she had to have one to board her flight, there is no "merchandise" for her to return for a refund. It was just an expensive lesson.

Susanita25; I'm afraid getting money back from our government must be one of the most difficult AND time-consuming tasks one can imagine. So, I agree with Kathie that it will be "just an expensive lesson".
Your daughter MAY find something useful here, but I doubt it: http://www.migraciones.gov.ar/pdf_va...structions.pdf Let me know if I can help your daughter from here in any other way, preferably not related to our populist government's impenetrable bureaucracy. What should she carry next time? Well, BOTH passports and she can ask the immigration agent if there is a way to get her money back. And, Susanita25, we'd like a report anyway. Have a great time in our country. |
Simple rule: You pay for your mistakes. Next time, follow the rules even if you don't like them.

Unfriendly reply above which does NOT help.
It would be nice if Susanita25 acknowledged the replies to her OP. Have a great time in our country. |
