Where to visit in South America?

So I just returned from Costa Rica and had the vacation of a life time. I can't stop but plan for our next vacation probably in the Dec/Jan time frame. We are thinking to head to South America but I have no idea which location(s) to focus on planning a trip around.

We adored in Costa Rica first THE PEOPLE (so welcoming, and kind); second the scenery - beautiful landscape and amazing beaches; third the adventure!! and fourth - the price! 10 days - with everything included was just under $4k.

Where do you suggest we go in South America and why?

I suggest you research the Argentina forums, both here and on TA http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum...Argentina.html

Perú: like nowhere you have ever been before, wonderful food, friendly people, no visa or reciprocity charges, one of the most economical destinations in South America.
