Where to go in April?

We are an active couple in our mid 30s and we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary next April. I'm beginning to think about where we'd like to go and while I have a few ideas I'd love to hear other suggestions. We'll have about 10 days and interests include hiking, wildlife, culture, diving and great food. We are not looking at Peru this time as my new SIL is Peruvian and we will be taking a family trip at another time. As always an advice is appreciated!

Hi, what about Mexico? Is the best place to mix fun with adventure. You can go to Riviera Maya, there you will enjoy of great beaches ideal for scuba diving and more nautical activies. You also count with the parks Xcaret and Parque Nacional Arrecifes, with native vegetation, archeological areas and amazing landscapes, it has great touristic infraestructure, including hotels, restaurants with delicious food and much more you can check http://en.visitlatin.com/riviera-maya-hotels.htm
I love Mexico. Have a nice trip!

April should be quite good for Torres del Paine in Chilean Patagonia, you can also do the Argentina side.

Thanks for the responses so far!
Qwo- Eciador is definitely on my radar. Any suggestions for 5 day cruises or lodges in the Ecuadoran rainforest?
marie- I'm saving Mexico for a later trip since I figure it will be easy to do when I have kids.
mlgb- What will the weather be like? I've always assumed that Patagonian weather is similar to Alaska with on 3-4 months of decent weather.

April/May is when the forests turn to fall colors, I would love to go then! I don't know if it's any more predictable to the exact week than New England. I think you are just as likely to get windy, late winter weather in December which is considered "summer" . There is still one catamaran running in April.
