We are joining the 10-day Legacy of the Incas tour with Globus. We are my husband, my daughter in her early 20's, and me. The trip ends after breakfast on August 4. However, our flight back to the US leaves at 10:30 PM. So, we will have almost a full day in Miraflores, Lima. Any suggestions on what we should do or where we should dine in? Let me tell you what we would do in Lima provided by the trip. On the first day of the trip, we would go to the Plaza de Armas to see the Government Palace and the Cathedral, from there, stroll to the San Francisco Monastery (Breakfast and Dinner included). The second day we would take a scenic drive south along the Pan-American Highway to the town of Ica and see the Nazca lines. The third night we would have a dinner at a local restaurant accompanied by an Andean Folkloric Show in Lima. After that, we would go to other places like Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Juliaca, and Puno (Lake Titicaca). Would you reccommend we just relax on the last day in Lima or should we do more sightseeing and shopping? Do we need reservations for the restaurants in Lima?

Do you like museums? Museo Larco is great, they have a good (Acurio) cafe/restaurant on site as well. There is a very interesting old estate that has Cusco School art and silver in Barranco, Pedro de Osma. A bit less traffic and chaos in Barranco. Canta Rana is a popular seafood restaurant there (maybe not the best).

Either go when the restaurants first open or make a reservation for a top place.

One of the posters here mentioned that there was a $50 splurge lunch at Astrid & Gaston.

Punto Azul is another choice for cebiche. They have two Miraflores locations.

On our last day in Lima, we mostly took it easy. We'd been on the go for two weeks and just wanted to absorb the last hours in Peru.

We had a late breakfast, then went to Huaca Pucllana. It is a huge Inca pyramid made mostly of adobe bricks, right in the heart of Mraflores. There is a little museum and they offer tours (included in the admission fee) in English. The souvenir shop on the site has some really nice crafts, and prices were similar to market prices. There is a beautiful restaurant on site, that is supposed to have fabulous food. The menu looked great, but there was some sort of business luncheon happening, so we couldn't get seats.

Instead we took a cab to Larcomar. We spent some time admiring the ocean, the surfers and the hang gliders, did some window shopping and then had a wonderful lunch at Portofino. We had a table by a window so got to watch the surf and gliders again. After lunch we walked a ways along the coast to the Parque L'amour, then headed back up to our hotel (Radisson Decapolis) for a shower and left for the airport at 7 pm.
