Wet suits in Galapagos

We are taking a Galapagos cruise. The vendor supplies snorkeling equipment, but surprisingly, not wet suits. We have our own but do not want to be burdened with them for the 2 weeks travel preceding the Galapagos. Has anyone dealt with this? Would shipping our suits to the cruise vendor work? Or would the possible customs issues make it risky that we'd ever see our suits again? How about renting in the Galapagos? Thanks in advance

What time of year? We snorkelled in February -- I wore a pool suit but my husband was fine in a long sleeved t-shirt.

There's a good dive shop in Puerto Ayora -- but most cruises depart from a port near the airport -- you could go a few days early though. Puerto Ayora is great fun

Elizabeth:
Thanks for quick response. Our trip is mid-December. We're old and get cold. Departure is from port near airport and it would be difficult to get to Puerto Ayora.

It's odd they don't have them on the boat. Our snorkelling equipment was free but they charged for the pool suits. Maybe Scuba Iguana is used to getting equipment to boats?

Elizabeth, Did you write up your Ecuador trip on your blog? I tried (well, just for a minute or two) to find a report but could not; most appreciative if you could post a link!!
