Taking my family of 6 to Argentina next week. Thanks to postings here (no word from LanChile), I discovered the airport in Bariloche is closed until the first of the year. LanChile will fly ticketed passengers from Buenos Aires to Neuquen and then bus you to Bariloche. I knew about the volcano this summer and was just hoping for the best; wish I'd made alternate plans instead. I have a rented house that I will now pay for 2 days while I am paying for a hotel in Buenos Aires and riding a bus until 2:30am instead. There are so many great places in Argentina to visit, I can't believe I chose the one covered in ash! If you can change your plans without a great loss - do it.
