Travel to Chile

I am continuing to research travel options for adult family travelling from US to Chile. We are planning about 10-14 days depending on the amount of time we need on either end of the trip. Initially we seemed to like Puerto Varas as a base but recently saw some info on Pucon and Villarrica area. Any comments comparing the two areas? All adults...moderate to good hiking ability. Interested in daily trips to sites with time to relax as well.

Sorry my only experience in that part of Chile was a birding day tour from a cruise stop in Puerto Varas.

I can recommend BirdsChile, maybe their website has some information for you. They offer nature and hiking tours, not just birds. Maybe some of their tour descriptions would help. Also extremely helpful staff if you want to email or call them.

Maybe you will eventually see my post released from moderation. In the mean time see if googling BirdsChile drags up a website.
