Transfer time in Santiago airport
I am working on travel plans for a trip to Torres del Paine in Chile in early April. My Delta flight arrives in Santiago airport at 6 am on a Monday. I would like to take a LATAM flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas at 8:50 am the same day. I will not be checking a bag.
If any of you are familiar with getting off an international flight and getting to a domestic flight in that airport, does 2 hours and 50 minutes seem like enough time? Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions |
Early February 2025 I am getting into Santiago from Los Angeles at 6:50 am and my flight to Calama Chile leaves at 11:00 am. All fights on LATAM and checking bags. LATAM said 4 hours was good. Immigration and customs are the hang ups and hopefully flights are on time. There are many backup flights to Calama.
I will let you know if I make the international/domestic connection! |
On my date of travel, transfer from International (US citizen) to Domestic went very well. Arrived at 6:30 am, deplaned and cleared immigration by 7:00am. I was in business so first off plane. Then collected my bag, cleared customs and immediately easily dropped bag at LATAM transfer agent desk right after customs. One must walk about 15 minutes OUTSIDE from the International to Domestic. Domestic terminal is a mess and I had a hard time killing time until 11:00 am flight. The two lounges were not of top quality and I found it better to sit at an empty gate. Lots of construction.
Very important to have all paperwork and documents for immigration. Need address of where you are staying, boarding pass, passport and SAG form. Happy travels! |
Thanks for the helpful information!
