Tour agency recommendations

Good afternoon everyone, I am looking into using a tour agency for my upcoming trip to Peru and am looking for some recommendations for agencies to check with. Any comments about personal experiences with the agency would also be appreciated.

I hesitate to suggest anyone as our trip is now almost six years ago. We used Llama Path for the Inca Trail. They were excellent.

Our guide then was Raul. He now runs Alpaca Expeditions. The reviews on Trip Advisor are incredibly positive.

We used:

http://titicacaperu.com/ ... in Puno. They were excellent. And we used Amazonas Explorers for rafting and cycling tours. Both were good although the rafting was a bit hairy.

I was in the process of booking a tour with "Peru For Less" when DH had a cardiac arrest and a lengthy hospitalization.
The reviews were universally stellar and they were a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, Peru is off the table for us.

Jeff, I booked my Peru (Machu Picchu + Amazon) trip for May 2018 through Greentracks (out of Colorado). A friend of mine on Safaritalk did the same trip I'm planning and used them and had an excellent time. All of the lodgings are well known on Trip Advisor and elsewhere.

We don’t use tour operators in Peru as it is so very easy to organise everything oneself. One exception was for Titicaca where we used http://titicacaperu.com/ mentioned above and I would agree that they were excellent.

One place to start looking might be http://andeantravelweb.com/peru/index.html

Regarding "Peru for Less" mentioned above and their "universally stellar" reviews. Most of the reviews I have seen have been on Tripadvisor and are all remarkably similar and mostly by one time posters. I would take those with a large pinch of salt!
