Time between flights

We will arrive in Rome Airport from Istanbul at 4:15PM and will flight to Paris at 5:05PM.
All flights is with multiple destinations e-ticket from Alitalia. My question is if 45 minute conection time is enough to leave airplane and walk to the gate where we will flight to Paris.
In this case, from Istanbul to Paris via Rome we need to go thru the passport control ?
or as transit passengers go straight to the gate ?
Tks

This is the South American forum, it might help you to post this on the Europe forum. But for what it's worth 45 minutes is not enough time, if you flight is just a bit delayed you will miss the connection.

Alitalia flights unless delayed are pretty seamless

if you are going through their hub airports

so unless delayed by weather or customs you should be fine...

any customs clearance takes a little longer

similar to connecting with Delta in Atlanta

Yes, I made a mistake, the correct forum is Europe.
Thank you for your help.

You will go through passport control at Rome I think - it is your first point of entry to Schengen. You won't go through customs though.
You will also need to go through security again.
If Alitalia allow it as a legal connection then it must in theory be possible. If you can't get the connection it is then up to Alitalia to get you on the next flight available.

Do you have any idea how busy Rome Airport is in this time of the year ?
