Three months in Argentina with three kids under ten
Hello,
I would love any and all ideas around visiting Argentina in a few weeks. Is Buenos Aires blazing hot? We are looking for a small town to integrate and meet other families, learn spanish and just enjoy argentina. Bariloche has been recommended but very open to thoughts as this is coming up soon. Also, when does the school year start in Argentina? Thanks, |

Got pretty hot last year but sort of unusual. Briloche is pretty nice Jan Feb starts getting cold in March. Salta area is also nice for me very scenic... So might divide my time between city and country. Mendoza pretty good wine/food/culture also. |
This summer has been very very hot (imo) but has "cooled" down to the 80s .. It can be blazing in the afternoon on hot city streets. The parks are good, lots of huge trees and shade.
Swimming pools are good but not everywhere ( hotel/apartment-wise). Bariloche is where I would go right now , cool, very beautiful, but being there would include car rental and driving places. At least here in the city, you hop in a taxi and get around. |
Thank you both... what about living in a place like Cordoba or even smaller towns that come to mind? A nice, safe, picturesque place where the kids could make some frineds and we could all just enjoy argentina? Thanks again!

I have been to Córdoba only a couple of times, but I suggest you research places such as Villa Allende, La Cumbre and many other towns I believe would fit your "nice, safe, picturesque" specifications.
Our South would also great, particularly during our summer. Our school year starts sometime in March, I believe. Have a great tome in our country with your kids. |
Obviously meant "Have a great TIME...", not "Have a great tome...". LOL!!!

Thanks again! This is really helpful and I appreciate it.

If you wish to stay near Buenos Aires, Tigre is a wonderful location. Half an hour from downtown yet it seems another world. Look into it.

Schools start sometime in March. Most of them anyway.
