Steak house rec in Buenos Aires near Recoleta

Would appreciate a few restaurants recommendations in Buenos Aires that serve good Argentine steaks and are in Recoleta or close by.

We prefer restaurants that are frequented by locals, as well as visitors. We do not care for wine, so wine menu is irrelevant. Thanks in advance.

I can only "unrecommend" one, El Mirasol de la Recova.

Expensive, inattentive service, and the Uruguayan steak on our cruise ship was better!

Thanks for both the recommendation and the "un-recommendation".

Oh my, I do love El Mirasol. Sometimes the chef is on vacation, but our experience, on several different years, was delicious and delightful.

Another idea for good steak often visited by locals is FERVOR, in Recoleta, on Posadas. If you do choose to go there, and if you like seafood, too, then do try their mixed seafood platter first....but know that 1/2 portion will be enough for 3-4 people.

Thanks MarnieWDC, I am glad to know that two folks (you and avrooster) recommended FERVOR.

I have read the restaurant's reviews on both Yelp and TripAdvisor. The photo of grilled seafood platter did look mouth-watering.

Well, Reading54, Fervor is quite an unusual place, because you can have both good steak and good grilled seafood.

Furthermore, it is "frequented by locals, as well as visitors", as your request specified.

Have a great time in my town,

Thanks AV. Bookmarking for my own trip. This may be worth visiting twice--once for steak and once for seafood.

Years ago the El Mirasol menu included a diagram of meat cuts from the cow, which I have framed above my kitchen workbench. That's no comment on consistent service but I remember the steak fondly when I look at it.

Southam, I have that diagram too...and it makes me eager to return to BsAs and to El Mirasol each time I look at it.
