Solo backpacking in Argentina and Chile

I traveled around Argentina and Chile with the only company of my backpack, and loved it!
My itinerary included: Iguazu Falls - Misiones - Buenos Aires - Peninsula Valdes - Ushuaia - Perito Moreno - Bariloche - Santiago de Chile - Atacama.
Check out my blog for the full trip report, with pictures and tips:

The hike in Argentina looks amazing. How close were you guys to the black bear? Would you have been able to fend off a bear attack?

The underwater pic of the seal looks good! Did you just have a regular compact underwater camera? I'm going on a Galapagos cruise next month and am looking for a camera that can take decent shots while snorkling.
