Restaurant recommendations, Cusco and Hanga Roa

HI! My husband and I are traveling to South America next month, visiting Machu Picchu and Easter Island. We'll be spending 4 nights in Cusco (2 nights at the Andina Premium Valle Sagrado and 2 nights at the Novatel Cusco) and 4 nights on Easter Island (Hotel Altiplanico Rapa Nui).

Anyone have a favorite restaurant in either location?

TIA

I didn't dine at Chicha por Gastón Acurio in Cusco, but I greatly enjoyed the branch in Arequipa. Might be worth considering!

Although "Organic" (they had their own farm) they also serve meat, location right on the plaza.

I hope you enjoy the Altiplanico. The location is great, especially if you are looking for something quiet. You can walk into town from there if you like, although it is a distance. My favorite restaurant is Te Moana. Another good restaurant is Au Bout du Monde.

We enjoyed a great meal at Chicha in Cusco. Well at least for dinner, We are Also visited at lunch and the service was chaotic to put it mildly! Encantasqa in San Blas is small but serves excellent food. One of the best meals we had in Cusco.

Thanks, all! I realized after looking at the map that the Casa Andina is out in the middle of nowhere, so we'll probably just eat there. But will put the other restaurants in my notes.Only a couple weeks out!

I realized after looking at the map that the Casa Andina is out in the middle of nowhere,
It is, and it's not in Cusco either, it's in between Urubama and Ollantaytambo, 2 hours drive from Cusco. If you decide to take a drive into Ollanta, we stayed and ate at (and really enjoyed) the farm-to-table restaurant at El Albuergue (they grow their own vegetables right behind the inn).

There's so many options in Cusco that it's hard to go wrong. From what I remember being up in Cusco, Novotel actually has a nice Happy Hour inside the hotel that surprisingly affordable.

In Cusco, some of our favorite places were --

- Chicha - (Gaston Acurrio restaurant -- Try the Pachamanca!)
- Morena - (A more fine dining type option but still enjoyable)
- Inkazuela - (Good casual location for Andean flavors)
- El Tupay - (In Hotel Monasterio -- Amazing atmosphere but only if you're intent on blowing your food budget in one dinner)

In Sacred Valley -

- El Albergue Restaurant - (Intimate dining room & good mix of Andean food -- Really memorable meal)
- Inkafe Restaurant - (In Sonesta Lodge, pretty affordable Peruvian food mix)

Thank you all so much! I have the restaurants noted and will be sure to post about it when we get back!
