Recommendations needed for Bariloche
We will be arriving in Bariloche in early April for 6 days. We are staying in an apartment, not a hotel, so we don't have the benefit of a concierge. We need some suggestions.
- Can we get to Chile from Bariloche? I've heard there is a ferry. Can we go on the ferry and return to Bariloche on the same day? - What will the weather be like in early to mid April? - Is there a tourist office in Bariloche where we can go to get some information? - Are there a lot of glaciers and waterfalls that are easily accessible? I have mobility issues. Any tips or information are very welcome. Thanks. |
No, you cannot get to Chile as a day trip. You could get halfway, but you'd have to check the timetables to see whether you could get back. There is not one ferry, the trip takes multiple boats and buses. See: Cruce Andino - Inicio
If you want glaciers you should be going to El Calafate, not Bariloche. Tip: invest in a good guidebook. |
Weather is likely to be autumnal so bring appropriate clothes.
There are options for half day or day trip from Bariloche but not to Chile and back in one day even by bus. There is an excellent tourist office in the main square and they can advise you of the tours available. |
Thanks very much. |
