Recommendations for Tour company for Cusco and Sacred Valley day trips!

Hi Fodorities,

I am interested in joining a group tour for the following:-
-Sacred valley tour
-Maras/Moray and Salinaries tour
-Tipon, Pikillacta/south of Cusco tour

Has anyone done any of the above tours as a part of the group tour offered by tour companies in Cusco? Can you please recommend exellent english speaking group tours which are reasonably priced.

Alternatively, if I were to take a taxi from cusco to Moray/Maras and Salinaries, how much will it cost one way?

Thanks all.

Hi,
We just returned from Peru and had great success with a small tour agency Adventure Holidays Peru.

www.adventureholidaysperu.com

For Cusco and environs,Sacred Valley,we had our own charming English speaking guide, van & driver. We really preferred this than to be with the huge bus tours. The tours were a part of a package we set up,which included rooms etc,so I'm not sure how the price compares. The owner Vidal Jaqueha answered me very promptly by email.
Have a good trip!

Hi CCF,

We are a pretty experienced traveling family of five with children 16,14 and 12. I am interested in going to Cusco etc. and wondered if it would be cheaper to make our own flight and hotel arrangements and book travel guides in country. We have frequent flyer miles which is part of the attraction. Also we are trying to keep costs down and see if we can take in the galapagos as well. Are we crazy? Any cost saving ideas would be much appreciated. Heading down late July/early August

We flew on points and hired a great local guide in Cusco - David Choque. He booked our hotels as well at rates lower than I could find. Have a look at our blog

His website is

There are many positive reviews of him here on Fodors.

Also we spent a month in the Galapagos after - we booked a cruise at the last minute via a local travel agent Jenny at Moonrise Travel

Or you could deal directly with a boat - we met the owners (a family) of this boat which is quite reasonably priced and friends subsequently went on it and were very happy

Hope this helps.

Spent five nights on Yate Floreana during June 2007. Great crew, great food, great time. The capacity of 16 makes it easy to get on and off when visiting Islands,
