Peruvian Airlines - OK?

I'm trying to find flight information from Lima to Arequipa, and it seems like Peruvian Airlines has the most reasonable rates. I'd like to buy the ticket before we leave the states. Does anyone have any experience with them, either good or bad? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

they do have good rates, and from comments seem no worse than LAN. Unfortunately, I couldn't ever get their website to let me complete my purchase.

We flew them on our last trip and were scared at their old planes, but nothing happened and are cheaper than LAN.

I flew Peruvian Airlines on my last trip to Iquitos; it was about 1/4 the price of LAN, but I did have to go through a Peruvian travel agent to get the ticket. If you are part of the "Verified by VIsa" program, you might be able to book directly. (Here's the trip report that gives you the details: http://www.fodors.com/community/sout...rip-report.cfm)

traficoperu.com if u have booking problems

you will if you do not have Verified By Visa

www.peruvianairlines.pe flies older Boeings good personal

experience usually cheapest in Peru for one way flights.

starperu.com taca.com(best) sometimes competitive on RTs

Avoid LAN new small airbuses on many routes but they rip off

tourists with a $178.50 "non-resident" per flight surcharge.

I will be boycotting them in Peru until they rescind this.

I have verified by Visa and has used it sucessfully many times. I still couldn't get it to work on Peruvian Airlines (or more than once on PeruRail). I think Peru is one of those countries where a good local agent might be handy by being able to book the local transportation.
