Pantanal Tour - least favorite topic - tipping?

I hate this subject. I have no doubt that there will be many differing opinions regarding tipping. It is something I am not particularly comfortable with, but it is a fact of life in the service industry. I did a quick search and didn't see anything.

I am traveling alone, but joining a tour for the Pantanal portion of my trip. It will be for 5 nights, and I assume there will be a tour guide and somebody guiding the boat. (Not the owner) The camp is not luxurious, but we are also not camping in somebody's front yard.

Any suggestions anyone can give me regarding tipping would be greatly appreciated. A particular amount per day? A percent of the cost of the trip?

Thank you in advance for any help.
