Other forums for Buenos Aires

Hello Fodor's friends, Just starting to look at Buenos Aires and I see there is not much activity here on the forum. Where else do you research for Argentina, specifically Buenos Aires, even more specifically the Palermo district there? Trip Advisor will be my next stop, but I'm wondering if there are other helpful local forums or websites I should know about.
gracias, Suze

There is nothing wrong with this forum for Argentina. Post you question and you'll get an answer.

suze Jun 23rd, 2015 11:12 AM

Thank you for your kind reply. But I don't have a question to ask. I was hoping to read lots of different posts from people currently planning a trip or who have recently visited the area.

Yes, thank you, I already did that.

My hope was that someone here might have suggestions or participate on other forums that are more active (the first 25 posts you linked are from Feb thru June and only a few specific BA).

Huentetu Jun 23rd, 2015 12:49 PM

I don't think many people on a travel forum would be comfortable suggesting others.

It would probably be best if you Googled "travel forums Buenos Aires". That should give you a choice. However, you will probably find the best advice and trip reports on Fodor's. Quality not quantity.

mlgb Jun 23rd, 2015 01:49 PM

Exactly. I think one of the best experts on Argentina is not even allowed on TA, right?

mlgb Jun 23rd, 2015 01:50 PM

How much more recent can they be than February through June?

avrooster Jun 23rd, 2015 01:50 PM

Thank you suze for asking here first!

I don't mind at all saying that you'll find MUCH MORE, not necessarily BETTER info about my town on TA.

Two suggestions:

1) Let's see if this thread, which is a collection of TRs from here and elsewhere helps:

http://www.fodors.com/community/sout...ed-reading.cfm

I'm afraid I haven't updated it for quite a while.

2) Why don't you try us, by asking a question?

Anyway, suze, you'll have a great time in my town.

mlgb Jun 23rd, 2015 01:58 PM

It's about time you showed up!

gertie3751 Jun 23rd, 2015 02:06 PM

I had a fantastic time there last year. Didn't do a trip report. Ask away.

suze Jun 23rd, 2015 02:11 PM

avrooster, Thank you so much. I appreciate hearing from you.

I've read thru many threads and posts on the Argentina branch already. It's just very confusing wading thru everyone's past inquiries and trip reports that only include a teeny bit in BA.

Sincerely, I don't have a specific question to ask yet, is why I'm not asking. If that makes sense.

Long story short, I had an idea about a November trip to Buenos Aires and staying in the Palermo district (L'Hotel Palermo). So wanted to read more about what that might be like.

I know on the Mexico and Hawaii forums we often recommend various local sponsored website (like locogringo for the Caribbean side, vallartainfo for PV, gohawaii for the islands, etc.) is why I asked about other forums here. I am totally shocked people found that offensive somehow.

suze Jun 23rd, 2015 02:24 PM

If I realized mlgb was here & going post 5 negative comments in reply, I would have never have asked anything.

mlgb Jun 23rd, 2015 02:55 PM

Please don't extend yourself by asking questions, lest you actually get some useful information. x

suze Jun 23rd, 2015 03:07 PM

Thank you to avrooster and gertie and Huentetu.

I don't have any specific questions (yet) as I have already clearly explained this was merely the kernel of an idea at this point.

I hoped to find & read recent reports about people who had spent a week or two staying in Palermo and what their trips were like. Where they stayed, where they went, what they saw, where they ate, if solo females even better.

I am not willing or interested in duking it out with mlbg (who has done nothing but harass me for no reason on Fodor's for years).

Will go elsewhere for my research. adios mi amigos... suze

mlgb Jun 23rd, 2015 03:17 PM

Yes, all the others who said the same thing...ask a question..but I was 'being negative'. Pobrecito, cutting off her nose, to spite her face. Nothing new here.

avrooster Jun 23rd, 2015 05:24 PM

Makes me feel like not posting here anymore.

Let's hope I get over it soon.

mlgb Jun 23rd, 2015 06:02 PM

Don't worry. Those of us who have been on the SA Forum "for years" know what a great help you are to those interested in Argentina, and specifically Buenos Aires.

What a pity, it has to be suze's way or the highway. Her loss.

thursdaysd Jun 23rd, 2015 09:33 PM

I was going to point out that I, solo female, spent several days staying in Palermo in 2012, and wrote about it, but apparently that was too long ago to be of interest.

I do think we should encourage suze to travel somewhere other than Mexico for a change.

avrooster Jun 24th, 2015 02:03 AM

Suze: I hope you are still there.

How about this TR:
