One Way Not Allowed In Peru?
Hi, I'm planning on buying a way to ticket SA specifically Lima Peru I heard that they do not allow one-way tickets into their country. Is this true? I'm backpacking the continent so don't plan on staying in Peru long.

It is going to be up to the airline to decide whether you should board.
See if you can buy a cheap bus ticket between Puno and La Paz. Or to whichever country you are visiting next. Should be able to find them online unless COVID has put a stop to them. It is going to be up to the airline to decide whether you should board. If you are a US citizen be aware that you need to get a Visa for Bolivia and will need lots more documentation. You may find other land border crossings closed due to COVID. Also, you may find similar issues with every country you enter. Might be good to have a refundable ticket back home just in case. |
Buy an additional plane ticket out of Peru with an airline that offers 100% flight cancellation refunds, then cancel the flight and receive your refund once you’ve entered Peru. You can also do this with some domestic airline in Peru for example, buy a ticket from Lima to Santiago, Chile with LAN, and either ditch the ticket entirely or try to get a full refund, you’ll probably have to cancel the ticket within 24 or 48 hours of purchase.

I have never had a problem entering Peru without an onward ticket. Ask the airline.

I think they are stricter on backpacker-ish types, crellston, as opposed to LAPD look-a-likes.

😂 you are probably right mlgb. Though in my head I am still 21 with long hair. If only!
