Need Help in Planning JuneItinerary for South Ameirca
Hello, everybosy. I am trying to figure out where tog o next June(2 weeks). I would go on vacation with my daughter 18 years old, my husband and I. I am thinking on visiting Bolia, Uruguay, and Paraguay. We like sight seeing, beaches, and gettign to know cultures. Do you think it is too much?
I would like to go to this countries becasue money wise it can be a little cheaper than visiting other countries. Let me know if you have any sugestions I wher I can stay and places to visit and also whether three countries is too much. Thanks in advance |
I think three countries is too much for two weeks.
All three are wonderful countries, but they don't receive as many visitors, so they have fewer flights. They may be cheap once you get there, but it will cost you more to fly to any of them. That's the problem. You say you like beaches. Uruguay is the only one of those countries on the ocean. June will be winter there, and it will be awfully chilly to go to the beach. |
I agree with Jeff CR, three countries in two weeks is way to much. Bolivia is a wonderful country with diverse landscapes and a wealth of indigenous culture. We were there for two months and fell in love with the place. Can't wait to return!
Uruguay was pleasant enough but not the most interesting country we passed through on our travels. The beef was amazing though, arguably the best in South America. As mentioned above, June is winter so not the time for the beach Bolivia is exceptionally inexpensive and great value given the anzing sights to be seen. Argentina is also worth a look and good value if you use the "blue dollar" fx. Everyone has their own travel styl but personally, I wouldn't waste time on the beach in South America when there are so many amazing sights to see. Here is a link to our blog from a couple of years ago with some photos of Bolivia staring at entry #22 http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog...ai/6/tpod.html |
Wow, than kyou for your responses. This really helps. I may aim it to Bolivia, then. However, not June, right, becasue of chilli weather. When is the best time to visit Bolivia, then?
|
May to October is the high/dry season in Bolivia and the best time to visit. June should be fine. Yes, it will be cold, especially at night, particularly in the altiplano in places like Uyuni but go prepared with the right clothes and you will be fine.

Thank you
We visited Thailand this June. We were pleased that Thaialnd is very cheap. Do you think Bolivia is pretty much the same? I have two children in collage and are having great college expenses. So I am trying to find affordable and safe placs, like Bolivia and Thailand tovisit. Thank you for your imput. |
I have travelled extensively in both countries and found Bolivia to be a lot cheaper than Thailand. Like any country, you can make it as expensive or as cheap as you like.
Apart from international flights, acommodation is likely to be your biggest expense. We spent around $20-30 per night for decent ensuite rooms.Thailand has a huge range of great luxury hotels at very reasonable prices whereas Bolivias accommodation tend towards the simple Bus travel is dirt cheap, internal air fares are reasonable and food is good and great value. |
Thamk you for your imput. I really apprecite it.
We'll see if my family would like to visit Bolivia. I am checking out Turkey too. I need to do some research on how safe is to visit Turkey. Knoe anthing about his country too? |
Best ask that question on the Europe board. Have been to Turkey a couple of times, one of which I would really prefer to forget! It borders Syria but assuming that you won't go near the border, it is probably as safe as most places these days. Not even in the same league as Bolivia IMO
