Lost andean immigration card for Ecuador - problem on exit?

I have lost the white andean immigration card that you are given upon arrival in Ecuador. Is this going to be a problem when I exit Ecuador? My passport is stamped with the T3 visa but I don't have the white paper. We will be leaving Ecuador via the Peru border by bus. Dies anyone have any advice or experience with this problem?

To be on the safe side, I would head to the nearest immigration office and get a replacement card asap and certainly beore you get to the border. You dont say which border point you are using but we used the one at La Balsa international bridge. It was one of the more "challenging "border crossings i have experienced. The Ecuador immigration post was strategically placed alongside the jail cells! You may be lucky and find a friendly border official who would help you out or maybe waive you through, but even if this happened you might have problems if ever you wanted to returned to Ecuador.

The coastal border crossings, if you are going that way, are supposed to be rife with scams. Another reason to have the right paperwork.

Good luck!

Ooh boy. Thanks crellston. I think there is an immigration office in Cuenca? We are heading down that way.

There is an English speaking immigration office in Cuenca, I presume to deal with the high number North American expats there. I am sure they will be able to sort it out for you.

Just a follow up. We ended up flying out of Quito to Lima, Peru and we had no issues. When we went through migration the lady asked for our embarkation cards and I told her we'd lost them. She just laughed and made us fill out 2 new ones while at the counter. So no issue. If you're crossing the border by bus though I don't know if it would be this easy, but it probably happens all the time.

I just returned from Ecuador and many of my group member lost their card. It was no problem. We received a new card from the airlines and we filed the blanks and traveled back to the US.
