JW Marriott Lima
Hi all,
I will be spending a night in Lima at the end of my Peru trip. I have always wanted to stay at the JW Marriott there and was happy at the thought of using points to cover it. However, it looks like I'm not going to be able to use points on the night I need. Room rates are VERY expensive (well, for my preference that is) and I was just wondering if the hotel is worth the price tag. Thanks in advance for any opinions! |
I've never felt motivated to spend that much on it with the other choices available. But since I haven't, I guess I am not the right person to answer.

I haven't stayed there but did visit a couple of time for their superb Sunday lunch buffet. It seemed like any other chain type hotel I have been to I.e.not particularly inspiring or exciting. It is in a great location though, across the road from. Larcomar shopping centre and overlooking the sea.
If I was going to spend that sort of money I would probably take a look at http://hotelb.pe in Barranco |
We stayed there for one night (on points) about 6 years ago. The views are spectacular (and a parasailer did drift by our room) but I wouldn't spend a lot of cash on it. As crellston said, it still is a big chain hotel (we called it "the bubble") and if you're only there one night you won't have much time to savour the views anyway.
I've had this cute B&B on my list for a while - in the Barranco neighbourhood and with ocean views. http://www.secondhomeperu.com/ |

Thanks all for the replies! Based on what people have said, I'm probably not going to spend the cash to stay there. Disappointed I couldn't get away with just using the good 'ol points though.
Thank you again though!~ |
