How to count hotel floors in Ecuador?

How are hotel floors counted in Ecuador? Is it like in the US with the ground floor called the 1st floor or as in Europe with the 1st floor up one flight of stairs?

If Ecuador is like Peru and Argentina, what we in the US call the first floor would be called the "planta baja" or ground floor, so the second floor (that is, the first floor with hotel rooms) would be the "primer piso"

In Ecuador the floors of the buildings are counted such as the United Kingdom, it begins to count from the Ground Floor, first floor, second floor etc ..., In Peru the floors of the buildings begin to count similar to the United States, it is Say first floor, second, etc.
