Iguazu: getting from the Brazilian side to the Argentinian side

I have been convinced by this forum to explore the Argentinian side of Iguazu on our own. We are staying in the Hotel Cataratas, right by the falls on the Brazilian side, but want to spend one day in the other side. How do we get to Argentina? I am not interested in taking a bus. Do we take a cab? Does anyone know a driver we could hire?

"I am not interested in taking a bus." Why?

"Do we take a cab?" If you don't take a bus, how else would you get there?

Did you read crellston's advice on your other thread?

You can take a cab and they will stop at the border to the documents. My wife and I did this and it was very routine. We didn't even have to get out of the car. After the border its a 10-15 minute drive to the Arg. park entrance. We even had the cab driver stop at the bus station in Puerto Iguazu so we could check our bags in before going to the park. We continued on to BA after seeing the falls, so getting back to Brazil I can't comment on. Just make sure you have your reciprocity fee receipt on you when going into Argentina. If I remember correctly, the cab ride was pretty inexpensive as well.

Thank you.

I guess maybe my question seemed stupid, but when I contacted the hotel about this all I heard about was guided tours (not surprisingly). I missed the line about taking a cab in my previous post as I was so fixated on hiring a guide. I was also hoping maybe someone had a favorite driver they could recommend.

Did you understand the matter of the reciprocity fe, eastave?

I'd take a look at http://tinyurl.com/k84oemw for a guide/driver from the Brazilian to the Argentine side of the Falls.

I'm not exactly a TA fan, but it can be useful.

Meant reciprocity FEE.

I do know we have to pay something online to get into Argentina. I haven't done it yet though.

Thanks for the link. I will look into that.

I am looking forward to this trip. I never thought that I would be so desperate for warm/sunny weather at the end of April, but this has been a brutal winter.
