Is there a time of year when it's best to visit Igazu Falls?

We went in May. Weather was great and the falls were incredible. We want to return, soon.

I went during November-December. It was really nice, may be too hot but the falls were amazing, full of water and no rain.
A friend of mine went 3 weeks ago and said it was too cold and my mother went during May and it rained a lot.
No matter when you go, you should consider the dates for the moonlight walk. I did it and it's an amazing experience that you will never forget! I think any time of year has its advantages and disadvantages! Its true that in November and December its hotter but it depends on how active you plan on being... at the moment its cold but there are less tourists and so the prices are lower, and the falls are still quite high... I think its an unforgettable sight so just go whenever you can!

Sofi--thanks so much for that link for the tour at night. Is the train--dinner tour the only way to see the falls by moonlight or can you just walk? It sounds so unique! Thanks for posting it.

Another tip I would give is to check out domestic flights... there are really good deals - round trip $250 and if you arent away for very long, it makes a HUGE difference! There are local travel agents in BA who can help you out...

I agree the moonlight walk is great. The difficult thing, though, is that you can't know in advance whether the walk will go ahead, because it won't if it's too cloudy. You still have to book in advance, though. I suggest booking it will Macuco Tours.

Hi Sally! Sorry it took me so long to answer.
When I took the moonlight walk I didn't had dinner at the park, so I guess it might still work that way. I remember we joined a group at night, at the entrance, and started walking, then took the train and spend a few minutes at the Devil's Throat. Then when we came back some people ate at the restaurant inside the park but me and my friends went back to town and had dinner at La Rueda

Has the drought broken there recently, then? Compared with 10 years ago, almost all the falls were dry this April when we were there. The Devil's Throat was still spectacular though, and more beautiful because you could see it, instead of just the powerful spray which masked everything then.

We had nothing to compare it too, but it sure looked spectacular to us - everywhere we went, and I thought it looked especially spectacular from Brazil although it was also amazing to be up close in Argentina.
