Hotels in Peru
Going to Peru October 2011. Would like some insight on the hotels we are considering.
LIma - Manhattan - Near airport due to early flight next morning Lima - Runcu - remaining nights Colca- Casa Andina A Calientes - Sanutario Cuzco - Terra Andina Nazca - Casa Andina Arequipa - Casa Andina One of the hotels has an observatory Thank you for any information. |
www.casa-andina.com all good Private Collections best.
www.hmanhattan.com is a econo in a dodgy location. Personally woud stay at the Ramada at the airport www.peru-explorer.com www.hotelclub.com good deals but pricy. If you have time Hotel Antigua Miraflores www.mirefloresperu.com a tonne better more to see safer free airport pickup if you book direct. Happy Hunting, |
Thanks qwovadis. I will check out the Ramada at the airport. For some reason, I thought the Manhattan was the only hotel in the immediate area.
I should check my notes, we had considered a hotel in Miraflores (I believe it was Antiqua) until we read that it could take a considerable amount of time to return to the airport. Thanks again |
Libertador is a nice hotel in Cuzco. It is bit expensive but quite centrally located. It is in close proximity to various attractions. It is at around 5 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas.

Stayed at the Manhattan in January and again in February for one night each. The area is a little "dodgy", but is near the airport (5 minutes) and I believe about 1/3 the cost of the Ramada. The rooms are nice and they do have a restaurant with a limited menu. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

If you are coming in late and leaving early I do not think it is worthwhile to go to Miraflores just to sleep for a few hours. The Ramada vs Manhattan decision just depends on your budget.
I liked Second Home Peru in Barranco (a neighborhood of Lima). I'm not that much of a fan of Miraflores. I believe they also have lodging in Cusco. I enjoyed staying at the El Balcon Cusco and El Albergue. www.secondhomeperu.com |
Thanks to everyone for their input. Your suggestions and comments have been helpful
Good night |
Well I think that list is nice.
Manhattan inn is cheap and also is very near from the airport, but be careful, the sourranding areas are little insecure. Casa Andina is a nice choice, Terra andina in my opinion is a litte far from main square about six blocks, another options could be Del prado Inn Hotel, casa andina or Hatun Wasi hotel. they are very close to the main square. Well I hope you enjoy your trip.regards |
Thanks to everyone for the responses. I note that there aren't any responses in regard to the Runcu in Lima nor Sanutario in A. Calientes
I still have some packing questions. What did you forget that you really needed and what did you take too much. Please also note the month that you visited Peru. Have a wonderful day!!!!! |
Sunglasses, the sun is really bright near the equator. Even if you don't normally wear them.
Be sure to wear long sleeves and long pants at Machu Picchu and use insect repellent. I wish I had brought extra camera batteries! |
