Hotel in Rio de Janeiro
 

Will be in Rio 1 night before and 2 nights after a cruise next month. Looking for a nice, safe hotel. Thinking Copacabana or Ipenema area? Any thoughts or suggestions would sure be appreciated....thanks. Also, does anybody know if there is anything going on for Carnival on Thursday, March 3rd? Everything I have read seems to be only on the weekends.

4-star: Excelsior Hotel, Mirasol Copacabana Hotel, Best Western Sol Ipanema Hotel, Orla Copacabana Hotel, Rio Copa Hotel

3-star: Atlantis Copacabana Hotel, Mar Ipanema Hotel, Hotel Bandeirantes, Guanabara Palace, Martinique Copa Hotel

Hi, good choice. Ipanema, Copacabana and Leblon are the best places to find a great hotel and at good price. Here you can find many Rio de Janeiro hotels, so you can pick the best for you http://en.visitlatin.com/rio-de-janeiro-hotels.htm I recommend you Astoria Copacabana, close to the beach and all the touristic places, comfortable and good services.
