Hostess Gift

Will be leaving for my son's wedding in Mendoza in four weeks. So excited! Any suggestions for gifts to take from the US to the bride's family in Mendoza?

My best gifts to host families over the years based on budget

Electronics
Appliances

hard to get and lots of tax so these are much appreciated.

Sports(baseball soccer not football) team Ts and caps cheaper

Sees candies particualy Marci Pan confections pack well.

Congrats and Good Luck!

mother_of_the_groom: while electronics certainly would be extremely appreciated, bringing several of these items in obviously new condition (not in use) could get you into trouble with our customs.

Why don't you ask your future daughter-in-law what would be adequate? Or is she too shy to tell you?

Have a wonderful time at your son's wedding.

I can't really see your "consuegra" wearing a baseball cap and being happy about it! I would pay a visit to the china and glass section of a good department store as you can usually find a nice small gift in china or cut glass, something small but nicely boxed. I think something decorative rather than practical. That way they will have a permanent keepsake to mark the occasion.

I keep thinking about something specific to my home town. Would that be meaningful to them or not? I just know that I don't want to give them something from the U.S. that is made in China.
